Walking Street Pattaya is one of, if not the most, famous (or infamous) streets in Thailand.
During the day, it is relatively quiet, and open to traffic, but once the sun goes down… WOW what a change.
From about 6:00 PM the street is closed to normal traffic so the bars and clubs can prepare for the nighttime entertainment.
The beer bars are the first to open and then at about 7:00 PM the first of the go-go bars open their doors. By 8:00 PM the majority of the bars and clubs in Walking Street are all open and starting to fill. The street becomes lined with young ladies (sometimes not “ladies”) enticing customers inside for a drink and various forms of entertainment.
This party atmosphere continues to the wee hours of the morning. At around 3:00 AM the street is opened up, and the bars are closed. There are a few nightclubs that are permitted to stay open, but the majority must close.
If you are in Pattaya, take a stroll down Walking Street at about 10:00 PM. It is something that you will never forget.
For most people this is a place that they would rather go alone or with a group of mates, however if you feel a little hesitant about going alone we are happy to add this street to the list of interesting things to do while you are in the area.
Although it is definitely classified as an adult entertainment area, the amount of bare flesh exposed outside the bars, is definitely less than what is exposed on the majority of beaches in Australia.
Many of the bars are open and have live music and dance. These can be a great place to sit on a balmy tropical night sipping your favourite drink and watching the crowds pass by. Participation or observation would be entirely up to you but I can assure you that a stroll down Walking Street in Pattaya would be something you would never forget.
